- Wally Cleaver: [At dinner, Ward and June are unsure how to bring up the subject of Wally going steady] How come you guys keep staring at me? Am I eating like a pig again?
- Ward Cleaver: [uncomfortable and still evasive] Well, Wally, can't your mother and I look at you?
- Wally Cleaver: Yeah, but it makes me feel kinda creepy. You know, like when the coach walks through the locker room.
- June Cleaver: [June and Ward are discussing Wally] I don't like the idea of him seeing how married people live.
- Ward Cleaver: Well, may I remind you he's seen the way we live for quite a few years.
- June Cleaver: The Hendersons are young! What's he going to think when he sees them enjoying themselves?
- June Cleaver: Wally, is that Tom in your school?
- Wally Cleaver: Oh no, no, he used to go to junior college, but then he quit when he got married to Judy.
- June Cleaver: [surprised] They're married?
- Wally Cleaver: Yeah! They're two of the neatest guys I know!
- June Cleaver: [June is trying to find out what Beaver knows about Wally's latest girlfriend] Well, what I mean is, Beaver, does he tell you about his friends?
- The Beaver: Oh sure, Mom! He told me that Lumpy was dumb and that Eddie was a rat. But I already knew that.
