While Earp was away in the Oklahoma Territory, his deputies gave Keno McGee a license to open a saloon and casino. Murdock is against it as McGee once tried to put Murdock out of business. With Earp returning Murdock wants the license taken away but since there has been no complaints about McGee's place Earp doesn't feel he can. Earp consults with Rowdy Kate who owns a rival saloon about McGee. She confirms that McGee is dirty. Murdock receives an unsigned note that Earp took a bribe which is hidden in his desk. He tells Earp who finds $300 in his desk that one of his deputies planted but which one. He decides to play along with the bribe. He and McGee are brought before the Judge who suspends Earp for seven days during which he must prove his innocence. Earp doesn't contest it making McGee think he won as he claims it was not a bribe. Pete takes over as Marshal as Kate tries to help Earp determine who the dirty deputy is. Pete is killed putting Sam in charge. Sam learns McGee talked to Kate who is friends with Earp so he kills McGee and comes after Kate but Earp is waiting with Kate with his guns.
