Clyde Hinshaw is going to trial tomorrow and honest Judge Brady is the eyewitness who can get him convicted. But Ma Hinshaw has been studying law books and has learned about the legal principle of double jeopardy. She and her other three sons kidnap Judge Brady''s daughter Molly. Ma wants to force the judge to change his testimony so that Clyde will be acquitted and and then can't be tried again due to double jeopardy. The Ranger and Tonto see the judge meeting with Ma Hinshaw and The Ranger gets him to tell what Ma has done. The Ranger then convinces the sheriff to tell Clyde that a posse is on the way to the hideout and he has no hope of an acquittal. Then they let Clyde escape with the help of The Ranger and Tonto. He leads them to the hideout where Molly is being held prisoner. Can they rescue her and catch the entire Hinshaw clan? Or is Ma too smart to be caught in their trap? Marin Sais plays Ma. She started out as an opera singer and then became a leading lady in many silent western movies. With the advent of sound, Marin dropped into character roles, also mostly in westerns. This is an excellent episode to close out the highly successful first season of The Lone Ranger TV series.
