Old prospector Mosshorn has wallpapered his cabin with worthless stock certificates from the defunct Red Gap Mining Company. But three crooks find out that the Red Gap Company's mine has a large deposit of gold still in it. They try to force Mosshorn to give them the stock, but one of them gets killed and the cabin is accidentally burned. The two remaining bad guys take Mosshorn and manage to save the stock certificates. Because a badly burned body is found in the cabin, the sheriff thinks Mosshorn's old partner Flapjack killed him and burned the cabin. Flapjack is arrested for murder. The Ranger and Tonto follow a trail left by Mosshorn and the two outlaws. They have to find out what really happened before the bad guys can force Mosshorn to sign over those stock certificates. This is a solid first episode of season 2.
