Framed ex-convict Bob West is returning to Deep Well after finishing his prison sentence. He is kidnapped off the stage by two henchmen who seriously wound the driver and steal the money out of the strongbox. They leave a note framing Bob for the robbery. Sheriff Roberts, his arm in a sling, would like to lead the posse, "If I didn't have this broken arm." A lament he repeats at least once more in the episode. The Ranger and Tonto believe that Bob may be innocent and Bob's loyal fiancé Virginia is sure of it. Crooked lawyer Slate Corbaley is actually the brains behind the frame ups, and he has his henchmen kidnap Virginia to force Bob to cooperate. Our heroes are going to have a tough time getting to the bottom of this one.
