Rancher Jim Ferris has given wealthy easterner Charles DeWitt an option to buy his ranch. But nasty Gregg Stracey will stop at nothing to get it first. He poisons Ferris' cattle and finally has his two henchmen hold Ferris hostage until he agrees to sell. Stacey poses as Ferris to convince DeWitt to pass on the deal. With the help of newspaper man Ed Barker, The Ranger and Tonto figure out the impersonation and that the real Ferris is being held hostage. And with Dewitt's assistance, they set a trap to fool Stacey into revealing where Ferris is being held. But will it work? Young Robert Horton plays Charles DeWitt. In about three years, he would sell the ranch, change his name to Flint McCullough, and take a job as scout for Major Seth Adams wagon train. And that made him a real TV star. Robert also recorded a few songs that can be heard on YouTube. He was a pretty good singer as well as a good actor.
