Elaine Joyce is back for the second time, this time bringing along real-life hubby Bobby Van. She is one of my absolute favorites. Look at that green two-piece outfit. Hubba hubba. They want Gopher to quit and become their hotel manager. There's a problem: Gopher has fallen for Elaine. (Who wouldn't?) As always, Captain Stubing is one step ahead. Ron Palilo is a magician substiuting for his brother. He's got an idea to saw Julie in half. He's not Horshack, he's Houdini. Can he do the trick of charming his brother's assistant? She's played by Melinda Naud. Abe Vigoda is Abe Vigoda. He's working on the ship. 'You know I'm not allowed to dance with the passengers,' Abe says. Nancy Walker is moving in full-time (we'll never see the character again.) We get a nice plot for Gopher, an apperance from some ABC sitcom stars, and Elaine Joyce too. This is one of the best episodes so far. On Kafka's Love Boat Scale, this episode gets 3 1/2 * out of a possible 4 *
