- Another day, another complaint to Gen. Mitchell, compliments of Hotlips, Inc. and Henry is tired of their constant abuse. Henry appeared as King Neptune in the recent Mardi Gras celebrations, but he insists that his body was covered from the waist down. He also wore a rhinestone in his belly button. To make matters worse, Private Danny Baker (Todd Susman) keeps going AWOL. Henry wants to know whats troubling Baker, since he gets ice cream every Sunday, no bed checks and movies every night at the 4077 MASH.
With the help of Fr. Mulcahy (William Christopher), Hawkeye and Trapper get to the bottom of Baker's trouble: his huge nose. He cant get operated as he is not injured. Mulcahy takes Baker to meet Trapper and Hawkeye, who try to argue that medically there is nothing wrong with his nose. and nobody cares how it looks, but Baker is still very self-conscious. The guys are not plastic surgeons and the operation is against regulations. But they promise Baker that they would take care of his nose. Trapper and Hawkeye meet Henry and apprise him of the situation. Hawkeye calls his old buddy, renowned plastic surgeon (he does all the Hollywood stars and is currently doing burn surgeries at Tokyo General), Major Stanley "Stosh" Robbins, (Stuart Margolin) to perform the surgery...in exchange for a date with "The Barracuda." Henry gives them their full permission, but says that he doesn't want to know anything about it. The whole things is against regulations and Henry wants to stay away from it, even though he wants to help Baker. Trouble is Hawkeye and Trapper have no clue which nurse is nick named Barracuda. They promise a date to Stosh anyways.
The big problem: all elective surgery is against U.S. military regulations. Hotlips, Inc. are very suspicious. Stosh meets Houlihan and starts hitting on her. Promises were made and contingency plans laid. Hawkeye promises Stosh the date, once he performs the surgery on Baker and sets his nose straight. Stosh helps Baker select his new nose shape, but wants the date before he will perform surgery. Hawkeye convinces Stosh to perform the operation.
with the help of Radar, Hawkeye arranges a pass for Baker to Tokyo, but after he gets on the jeep in front of Frank & Margaret, he gets off right outside camp and enters the operating room where Stosh and Hawkeye are waiting. Then Radar feigns a nose injury while playing ball and is taken to surgery, but the operation takes place on Baker. Before that Stosh tries to rape Margaret (Stosh is horny as hell and Hawkeye had been keeping him away from the nurses), but is taken away by Hawkeye
Meanwhile Frank finds Radar in Henry's office and knows that he is not in surgery. Frank and Margaret figure out that an illegal nose surgery has been carried out, but cant figure out who as the whole camp is wearing bandages around the nose. Stosh never gets to date the Barracuda, and leaves the camp back to Tokyo.
