I think that this is one of the best episodes of the series, because it features the background story of MacGyver and also because it has an Indiana Jones and Robin Hood vibe to it. One of the moments that caught my attention was when MacGyver is transported back in time and finds himself in the middle of the warriors of that era. Although the clan M"Iver was known as a disgraced clan, MacGyver stands for what is right and shows that he is a good guy. Congrats to all the cast and crew!

When MacGyver Jumped the Shark

Though MacGyver claims to know all about the Holy Grail and medieval stuff, as we saw in my review of his quest for the Grail neither he (nor his writers, who put his words in his mouth) know beans about it.
If his Grail knowledge is nil, at least he has a reason in this two-parter for medieval ignorance: in the first few minutes of the show he got clobbered on the head and it's all a delusion.
The life's blood of "MacGyver" has always been plagiarism. Ripping off all sorts of old movies for its plots. This time it's "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court." If it weren't a dream he wouldn't be able to understand a word anyone says.
Anyway, being thumped on the head MacGyver finds himself in an extremely anachronistic version of King Arthur's court where he apparently performs miracles. Arthur is Pete, btw.
An extremely silly episode. It's also too darn bad Penny has moved on, and Nikki. I'd like to see them in this venue.
Mostly harmless, but it was clear by this time "MacGyver" had run its course.
If you want to see MacGyver in King Arthur's court with everything centuries out of date, this is for you. Otherwise, stick with Monty Python, where you'll at least get a few laughs.
