Buck Gets Neutered!
Sylviastel18 May 2009
After knocking up half the neighborhood dogs, the Bundys' pet, Buck, has fathered countless stupid, ugly puppies. The neighbors are up in arms and want him fixed but Al is resistant. Nobody but him cares about Buck being a male dog. We hear about how Marcy is going to fix Steve up after they have their two children. In this episode, Al daydreams about Buck after he's fixed and angry at him for doing so. For Al to fix Buck would be emasculating him. It's a good, funny episode. When a trendy neighbor with his prize winning poodle stops by, Al makes a wisecrack as the neighbor says "by the way, keep your daughter away from my son." Al jokes "She was just lending him a dress." The episode does the unexpected. While everybody else agrees Buck should be fixed even Bud because it's his dog, Al has his own opinions.

It's the mutt's nuts.

This is one of those episodes that has a simple premise, but which does something really fun and inventive with it: after the Bundy's dog Buck escapes from the garden and impregnates all the local girl dogs, Al is faced with having to get his dog neutered. In a funny dream sequence, the testicle-less Buck (played by Derek McGrath in a dog costume) wanders round the house in shorts, drinking beer and treating his master with the level of contempt reserved for those who rob you of your plums.

Buck Can Do It features plenty of hilarious lines of dialogue, from Al talking about his soon to be castrated dog ('He'll be a thing. Like a girl.'), to Al's comment about the vet being a woman ('What does she do? Nag him until they drop off?'), to Buck's remark 'What do you want me to do? Roll over so you can rub my belly and see my shame?

Very funny and worthy of 'classic' status.
