Al The Sex Symbol
slightlymad2224 October 2014
Another superb episode of "Married With Children" and once again it's all thanks to Ed O'Neil's performance as Al Bundy.

Plot In A Paragraph: When Al moves a sofa off a neighbours' lawn, he unexpectedly gains a reputation as a "stud" among the neighbourhood women. With his ego boosted, he starts showering, dressing better and his performance at work improves dramatically, as does his popularity with all the ladies. Peggy is both jealous and unsettled by this new Al.

It's not all down to O'Neil, the rest of the cast do what is required of them well too.

Season 2 had one or two very good episodes, about half of Season 3's 22 episodes were excellent and Season 4 had even more brilliant episodes especially towards the end. But Season 5 very well could be the best season ever of "Married With Children".

Al the babe magnet.

When Al helps a neighbour by moving her sofa off her lawn, he attracts the attention of the local women and gains a reputation as a stud. Al's popularity with the opposite sex leads him to change his habits, the man improving his hygiene, dressing smartly and working hard, so much so that Peggy is concerned that he will leave her.

She needn't worry: when a beautiful woman asks Al to go with her to the Greek islands, he turns the offer down, remembering that he is married with children. This realisation causes him to transform, Jekyll and Hyde style, back to his former slovenly self.

While not as outrageously silly as the previous two episodes, this is still a solid episode, with Al's newfound positivity providing plenty of giggles. Hell, even Marcy is attracted to Al, hoping for a glimpse of him in his new zebra print underwear. There's also plenty of eye-candy in this episode: Kelly looks great, Al's blonde neighbour Brenda is a buxom bombshell, another blonde babe asks Al to 'buff her bumpers', and shoe store customer number fifty-seven is super-hot.
