The American Family
PWNYCNY3 December 2009
The script in this episode was great. This is one of the best episodes. Al, Peggy, Marcy and Steve are in top form as the lines are flying all over the place causing nonstop laughter as the institution of marriage gets the once over. When one compares this show with let's say, Leave It With Beaver or Father Knows Best, one can appreciate how television had evolved, and in a positive way, starting with All In The Family. The character Al Bundy has to rank with Ralph Kramden, Archie Bunker and Chester A. Riley as one of the truly iconic characters in the pantheon of TV buffoons. Great script, wonderful acting, original story, contemporary themes, all presented in good fun. Welcome to the American Family.

The Ring of Power.
BA_Harrison2 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Having lost her wedding ring in Zorro the stripper's underpants, a desperate Marcy leaves a note to the exotic dancer asking him to bring the ring to Peggy's house. Al is at home when Zorro arrives, and is more than happy to hear how the ring ended up in the man's underwear.

Al happily informs Steve about the ring, explaining that it can act like a 'Get out of Jail Free' card, giving Steve power over his wife.

Al's joy at realising that Marcy has messed up is absolutely priceless and makes Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Part 2 a lot of fun. Steve, however, seals the ring in an envelope, and gives it to Marcy saying that somebody dropped it off at Al's and he doesn't know what it is. Marcy goes into the bathroom to open the envelope and lets out a shout of relief, but Steve isn't quite the forgiving fellow he appears to be, saving the very best line of the show till the last moment: 'So, you lost your ring down Zorro's pants, huh?'.

Marcy's Wedding Ring!
Sylviastel18 May 2009
Marcy's prized wedding ring is finally returned and Al learns about Troy's as a strip club when he meets Zorro in person. Al returns the ring to Steve so he can get Marcy to beg and plead in a demeaning sexist and male chauvinistic manner. But Steve's not Al, he has other ways of demeaning his wife without being so obvious. This part of the two part series is the weaker one. It doesn't have the same impact as the first half of the two parter. They could and should have condensed it to one part episode. Anyway, I love Married with CHildren but don't care for this episode very much. The cast does it's best with a mediocre script. Al forbids Peggy from even thinking about Troy's much less going there with the girls to talk.
