Ol Al trying to build a refuge away from his wife
Maharg234 February 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Well in short, Al tries building an escape from his wife and soon to be new born. Al finds his Dad's hammer and despite his Peggy and Marcy not believing he could do it, starts building his own room to be away from Peg. Meanwhile Bud has a new identity. Grand Master B starts a year long running gag that has his family making mistakes on his new nickname. "bassmaster B" "Grampa B" lines likes that such as. Well Al is now done with his new room. How he got all that money to build an addition is beyond me however its looks fabulous. Basking in the glow of his new room he kicks the family out and sits down. Soon after, Jefferson knocks and comes in with his suitcases. Al says O.K. for just one night and not to tell anyone. Well sure enough, the next scene has all of Al's friends there ruining the place. Then Marcy had her friends there while Al and his buddies are cowering in the corner. Al has had enough when the girls decide that their new safe zone is Als new bathroom. Al precedes to ruin the room by bashing it. Chaos ensues. Last scene has Bud kissing a girl and the hammer falls upon the self proclaimed tough guy's head. He yells out for Mommy and a picture of Al's glowing hammer shows while the credits roll. I rated this a 9 simply because it was pretty funny. Im a MWC freak. Watching around three a day or night. I like this one because of the running gag about Buds name. Fact: Bud (David Faustino) Owned a night club hot spot on Hollywood when he was 17. This is how the whole rapper Grandmaster B thing started. It was intended to make light of Bud's rapping desires in real life.

It's Hammer time.

While not the funniest of MWC episodes, at least this one isn't as mean-spirited as the previous one (She's Having A Baby: Part 2): Al is still upset about the whole baby thing, and wants to build a room for himself so he doesn't have to engage with his family, but at least he isn't planning to abandon them anymore. And thankfully, Peggy and Al calling their kids losers doesn't seem to have affected them too badly.

Of course, Peggy doesn't believe that Al will succeed in building a hideaway, but her husband has a secret weapon: his father's hammer! When he has completed the room, Al settles down for some peace and quiet, but his tranquility is shattered when the place is crashed by Jefferson and his friends, and then Marcy and the girls. His room tainted, Al decides to destroy the place, causing it to collapse with a Samson-style display of strength.

As amusing as all of this is, it is Bud who once again gets the biggest laughs, having adopted a new, cool persona for junior college: Grandmaster B, a rapper from the streets of New York. Attracting a really hot babe, he utters the classic line "And now... you may take me." His family do their best to cramp his style, getting his new name wrong, but Bud loses his cool without any help when Al's father's hammer fall on his head, causing him to cry and call for his mummy.
