They're coming to take Al away ha-ha
bkoganbing2 March 2018
One of my favorite Married With Children episodes is this one. It is so surreal and bizarre it cannot help to be funny. It's also a great commentary how things never went right for Al Bundy after he made those four touchdowns in a single game for Polk High.

One fine desultory night while Peggy lay sleeping six little green aliens visit Ed O'Neill and steal something from him. They repeat their nightly calling a few times with the same mission. Can't tell you what they want it would spoil it.

Of course know one believes him and the question is asked why is it that aliens always visit idiots. The sight of a frightened Al Bundy hiding in a closet is one of the great moments of comedy television.

Have to give credit to Leonard Lightfoot as the droll photo clerk when O'Neill brings photographic proof of his close encounter. This episode really does belong to Ed O'Neill.

Al gets to meet the Aliens!
Sylviastel15 June 2009
When Al realizes that aliens or little green men are stealing his used socks, nobody believes him. Especially after he hit his head at the mall, Peggy brings him home to recuperate when they start coming and taking his socks. It's one of the funniest episodes of the series. Peggy finds Al frightened and barefoot in the closet. At night, he sets up the socks to hope that the aliens would find them. When he learns that a tabloid is willing to pay a million dollars for pictures, he decides to cash in on the event. Eventually, the aliens are thrilled for their photos being taken. While we think Al has it almost set for life, it turns out tragically wrong. We find out what the socks was used for.

Married With Aliens
slightlymad2223 October 2014
The silliest episode to date of Married With Children, but one of the funniest and it's all thanks to Ed O'Neil's performance. How the Emmy's have robbed that man.

Plot In A Paragraph: After Al returns home from work with a bump on the head, he sees (or thinks he sees) six little green aliens coming down to Earth and stealing his smelly socks to use as fuel for their spaceships. The only problem is no one sees them but Al, so everyone think's he's crazy when he tells others that he saw them.

As the episode focus's largely on Al, the rest if the cast Katy Segal as Peggy. Amanda Bearse as Marcy, the gorgeous Christina Applegate as Kelly and David Faustino as bud aren't given much to do besides a couple of scenes. But that's OK, because O'Neill is superb once again.

Season 5 of "Married With Children" is great TV.

Al and the aliens.

Al bumps his head while trying to fish coins out of the mall's wishing fountain; that night, he sees little green aliens who climb in through his bedroom window to steal his socks. Peggy and the kids think he is hallucinating, but every time they leave the house the aliens come back for more socks. Eventually, Al lies in wait with a camera, hoping to make a fortune with exclusive photos of the extraterrestrial lifeforms; the aliens come back and happily pose for snaps, but when Al takes the film to be developed, the photo lab clerk accidentally ruins the negatives.

This is the silliest episode to date and it's a lot of fun, as Al goes from being afraid of his diminutive visitors to befriending them, even joining in with them for a rendition of Kumbaya, My Lord (did I say it was silly?). It eventually transpires that the aliens require Al's used socks for spaceship fuel to help divert a comet on a trajectory that would destroy hundreds of inhabited planets. Al doesn't know it, but his name becomes legendary in the far flung reaches of the universe. To Peg and the kids, he is still just a shoe salesman.
