Kelly's job!
Sylviastel14 June 2009
Kelly gets to intern at the local television news station and they cast her as the weather girl. Soon, she gets a huge contract after an anchor forces them to choose between the dumb blonde or him. She jokes "they canned him like a can of tuna." Marcy is still single and looking for Mr. Right, maybe the news guy. Anyway, Kelly is earning a lot of money compared to Al's pathetic salary. She is just about to sign a contract and she has already bought a new car, a Porsche. Unfortunately and usually for the Bundys, nothing every goes according to plan because if it did. The Bundys would be living high and enjoying life and that's not the purpose of the show.

Strom clouds ahead.

Remember that sleazy pink dress that Christina Applegate wore for the Gutter Cats rock video? How could you forget? Well, she wears it again for this episode in which Kelly gets a $1000 a week internship at the Channel 83 TV station, working as a weather bunny. Al's big news is that he has got himself a $5 a week raise at the shoe store.

Naturally, Kelly's sexiness improves the channel's viewership (much like it did for Fox) and pretty soon she has been offered a $250K a year contract (a mere pittance compared to what Christina Applegate was earning). Al quits his job at the shoe store to become Kelly's manager, but while Al considers the station's offer, Kelly screws up on the job, the girl unable to read the autocue, and she is given the push; with the contract torn up, Al is forced to go back to selling shoes for a living.

Applegate is the star of this episode, and she is as excellent as always, but despite another sterling performance playing stupid ("Winds are up to 30 moofs"), it is Bud who gets the best line this time around: "Why don't they just put some peanut butter on her gums like they did with Mister Ed?"
