Puggy Weaver, for whom the bowling trophy is named, was Al's bowling nemesis when Al was trying to break the Jim's Bowl-A-Rama record.
In the Season 4 episode "Peggy Turns 300", Puggy Weaver (played by Michael McManus) is Al's nemesis who holds the bowling score record that Al so desperately wants to beat, which he does - until Peggy bowls a perfect game. In this episode, however, Puggy is mentioned as a respected hero figure for Al and his friends, who is revealed to be dead from "choking to death trying to swallow eight waffles," trying to go for another record.
