Maude's mental state gets worse after Henry Fonda refuses her suggestion to run for President.
This is a good followup to the very funny Part 1 episode. Maude stays depressed in bed while her cab driver friend/press agent (Joe Mantell) tells all the media that Fonda is running for President. Fonda has a funny scene where he tries to deny it to a bunch of reporters. There is a scene where a TV crew is setting up for Maude to interviewed by Barbara Walters. But Maude insults them and throws them out. It is then revealed that Maude used Phillip's college fund to pay for the campaign. Everyone else is angry but Phillip is understanding. Maude finally decides she needs to get help.
