Phillip is going to spend the night with a friend named Sam who turns out to be a girl.
An amusing episode, Kraig Metzinger replaces Brian Morrison as Phillip in this season. His character is a bit more precocious now and gets a few more episodes devoted to him then before. Maude has some funny bits where she once again tries to be liberated except when it comes to her own family. Former child star Darryl Hickman ("Leave Her To Heaven") plays Carol's new boyfriend but it is one shot appearance. Jack Dodson ("Mayberry RFD") is funny in his second appearance on the show, this time as Sam's minister father.
