Maude fought the law, and the law won.
mark.waltz20 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The law of Maude, however!

With young police officer Jon Korkes following Maude home for speeding, Maude has her hands full trying to get herself cleared. Judge Vincent Gardenia is influenced to dismiss the charges, but Maude nearly makes the situation worse. This is a decent episode that shows Maude's screwy desire to control everything and everyone around her, but has a lengthy opening scene that goes on way too long.

Speed Demon Maude

Maude is ticketed for speeding and swears she is innocent and will fight it in court.

A very funny episode. It gets started right away with sirens blaring and Maude being followed into her house by a motorcycle cop. He is played by Jon Korkes (he also played a stiff FBI agent on "All In The Family" that same year). He has funny scenes with Maude as she calls the young looking officer a babyface and pussycat. Arthur offers to have the ticket "fixed" for Maude but she wants her day in court. Things get even funnier as Vincent Gardenia plays an exasperated judge. He also made memorable appearances on "All In The Family" around the same time as this show aired.

Huge quality drop-off

Cop & judge (Vincent Gardenia) as imbeciles didn't work. Minimal Carol (Adrienne Barbeau) never good. Idiotic writing. 3* rating is generous.
