When Sam and Joe reach Belasco's house, they are met by Morris. Sam runs off to find Chris, and Joe stays back with Morris. Joe steps up a couple of steps, turns his back to Morris, and the camera leaves Morris as focuses on Joe. When Joe turns around, his facial expression is one of puzzlement as Morris is presumably now gone. BUT after Joe turns to where Morris had been, one can see a shadow on the banister move away as Morris actually does move away. Joe then calls out to Morris as he comes back down the steps. The disappearing shadow demonstrated that the moment Joe turned around, he in fact saw Morris, and then watched him actually walk away and off the set.
Polk, then Clifford, get to the roof top where Sam has handcuffed the sniper to a ladder. Polk, then Clifford, both handle the sniper's weapon, again, potentially destroying valuable forensic evidence. It was bad enough when Sam handled the M-16, then Polk. But at the very least Chief Clifford would been experienced enough to have known NOT to handle the weapon.
At the end, Clifford arrives at the bridge and McCloud fills him in. Then after Chris arrives, Clifford puts forth his hypothesis, that Belasco had lost it and surrounded by his movie props started to relive his glory days on film, including sleeping in a coffin. BUT the only one who saw Belasco arise out of a coffin was Chris, and she did not mention that fact to either Sam (when he got to Chris in Belasco's house, Chris was unconscious and being dragged away by Belasco) or Clifford.
When Sam tackles, then overpowers the sniper, he picks up and handles the sniper's weapon. NO policeman would make such a mistake and thereby destroy potential and valuable forensic evidence.
When Tom Snyder introduces Chris Coughlan he calls her "Christopher" Coughlan.
