- Michael Anthony: [Anthony enters the Tipton Estate kennels to find Tipton petting some dogs. Tipton is off-camera with only his hands visible to the viewers] You sent for me, sir?
- John Beresford Tipton: [Chuckles] Four little puppies and a proud mother.
- Michael Anthony: A busy mother too, sir.
- John Beresford Tipton: I know someone who would like to be a busy mother, too.
- [Tipton hands an envelope to Anthony]
- John Beresford Tipton: I'll be curious to know what happens to this person when she gets a million dollars.
- Michael Anthony: [to the viewers] My name is Michael Anthony. For many years, I was Executive Secretary to one of the world's richest and most fabulous men: John Beresford Tipton. What made him rich was his astuteness in business matters. What made him fabulous was his eccentric hobby of giving away to individuals a tax-free gift of $1,000,000. This is Silverstone, a 60,000-acre secluded estate from which he conducted his world-wide empire. There are kennels at Silverstone. Mr. Tipton loved animals.
- Mildred 'Millie' Milliken: [In the office of bank president Andrew V. McMahon, Millie is finishing a glass of water, given to her by McMahon, to calm her down] A million dollars? I'm overwhelmed, dumbfounded, paralyzed. I'm sure this is a dream. I feel better now that you have explained.
- Andrew V. McMahon: As much as I can, Miss Millken. Now, if you'll just sign this paper, agreeing never to tell anyone where this money came from, except to your husband, at this risk of losing it.
- Mildred 'Millie' Milliken: [Signs the document] I don't have a husband.
- Andrew V. McMahon: You may have, someday. Anyway, my dear,
- [Giving her check]
- Andrew V. McMahon: Here it is - a check for a million dollars.
- Mildred 'Millie' Milliken: A million dollars. This is more than I ever dreamed of having, even in my most extravagant dreams.
- Michael Anthony: [to the viewers] It wasn't my business to ask Mr. Tipton questions about why he made his selections when he did.
- [Holding case history folder]
- Michael Anthony: This was a woman's name 'Mildred Milliken.' Mr. Tipton put 'Millie' in parenthesis.
