  Lucky Swanson : I'm Charles Swanson.

  Michael Anthony : My name is Michael Anthony, and I won't be long. May I come in?

  Lucky Swanson : Sure. Certainly.

  [Anthony enters] 

  Lucky Swanson : This is my wife, Valerie Jeanine... my wife, Val.

  Michael Anthony : [to Val]  I'm happy to know you, Mrs. Swanson.

  [Opens his briefcase] 

  Michael Anthony : You see, I have something for your husband that he can't tell anybody about, except his wife. And since you're here, there's no reason why the two of you shouldn't hear the news at the same time.

  Valerie Monet Swanson : Good news?

  Michael Anthony : I think so.

  [Anthony hands a check to Lucky] 

  Lucky Swanson : Hey, Val, it's a check for a million dollars.

  Michael Anthony : It's a cashier's check, as you see. All yours - no strings, and entirely tax-free. There is, however, a stipulation. You must sign this paper, agreeing never to reveal to anyone the exact amount of the money you just received. If you do, whatever money or tangible assets you may have left will be reclaimed on behalf of the donor.

  Lucky Swanson : Sure.

  [Lucky signs the form and Anthony retrieves it] 

  Lucky Swanson : But, who... who gave it to us?

  Michael Anthony : I can't tell you that. The donor specifically requires absolute anonymity. You will never learn who he is.

  Lucky Swanson : Oh, I don't believe this. Oh, I can't believe it. Oh, it's impossible. Things like this just don't happen.

  Valerie Monet Swanson : Lu... Lucky, you must be calm. C'est la vie. It has happened, and you must accept it. Now I... I am very calm.

  Lucky Swanson : [to Val]  Go ahead and be calm. I can't.

  [to Anthony] 

  Lucky Swanson : Mr. Anthony, I've been so lucky all my life, you wouldn't believe the things that have happened to me. And now this, a check for a million dollars. What did I ever do to deserve it?

  [Val faints and Lucky catches her] 

  Lucky Swanson : Now, Val, you can stand... Val... Honey... Wake up.

  [Lucky holds her in his arms and kisses her] 

  Valerie Monet Swanson : A million dollars. Mr. Anthony...

  Michael Anthony : Yes, Mrs. Swanson?

  Valerie Monet Swanson : How much is that in francs?

  Lucky Swanson : [to Val]  You know what, honey? We're going to change some of these dollars into francs.
