The doctor who x-rayed Natasha's foot could have determined that it had been broken less than two weeks by the degree of subsequent healing that had taken place. The leg could not have healed enough in just four days for it to look like a two-week-old break. Also, a break caused by extreme pressure to the side of the ankle (from Dede crushing her foot) would have been very different from a break caused by the fall that she claims caused the break. The doctor would have recognized this discrepancy and they would have been able to more easily arrest Natasha.
The murder weapon is a .454 Casull revolver. The .454 Casull is one of the most powerful handgun cartridges in existence, but the close up shot of the revolver being fired during the murder shows only a slight "kick". When a .454 Casull is fired, the recoil is significantly greater than depicted.
Randy's description of Natasha as a "Romany Gypsy" is tautological; "Romany" or "Romani" is the accepted name for the ethnic group known as Gypsies, although this term is no longer used because it is an ethnic slur.
[18:54] Lt. Randall Disher explains that Natasha Lovara fell during an acrobatic performance and that she never uses a net. Images of Natasha performing and falling flash on the screen, but a safety net can be seen in numerous camera shots.
When checking out Natasha, the police quickly learn that she fell in Kansas City and "broke her foot." Yet they never bothered checking for her medical records in any Kansas City hospital, something real police would do as a matter of routine. This is done, or rather not done, simply so the Hollywood writers could continue the storyline.
When Edgar Heinz is showing off Dede the Elephant's abilities to Monk and Sharona, Monk went to stand on Dede's right side, the same side where Natasha Lovara planted the walkie-talkie the night before. Considering that Monk has a sharp eye for detail, and that Dede flips her ear forward, why did he not notice the walkie-talkie?
When Sharona lit her cigarette in the hospital, Monk pointed out that you can't smoke in hospitals. As a police officer, shouldn't Stottlemeyer have made her put it out?
Monk would have wanted 10 marshmallows in his coco, not 8.
