"I'll never go back, not in my whole life!Never, never, never!!! That's Eddie throwing a temper tantrum one day, after coming home from school. It appears classmates are making fun of him - not for his fangs, hairdo or weird clothes, but because he's short. They're calling him "shorty" and he is not happy about it
Grandpa figures the solution is to make one of his famous secret potions. He makes one that will make Eddie grow six inches in height overnight. Well, he grows all right.....but not in height, but a beard! Grandpa thinks he looks like Mitch Miller and Lily leans more toward Ulysses Grant! Those remarks weren't made as jokes as they feel bad for poor Eddie.
The kid sees the family doctor, perhaps my favorite character in this first season: "Doctor Dudley," played by the late Paul Lynde. Dr. Dudley says there is no cure, but later we find out there is.....in the most unexpected form.
This was an extremely simple story but one of the better ones in this wonderful two-year series.
