I like substitute teacher episodes on TV shows. Bill Murray played a substitute teacher on Square Pegs. If you haven't seen that episode and you like substitute teacher episodes then you must watch it. Unless you don't like Bill Murray. Then watch something else.

I have a habit of chewing on toothpicks and I was chewing on one when I began watching this episode. I could immediately relate to the substitute teacher because he had a toothpick. Four years ago I got my substitute tracing license but I never did try substitute teaching. I have a feeling even if I did try it I would not be as popular with the kids as Vic even if I brought a toothpick with me. I'd probably get stuck with a math class too and it would be tough for me to convey excitement about arithmetic because I sucked at it. My substitute teacher license has expired. The most interesting aspect of acquiring the license was that I had to be fingerprinted for a criminal background check. It's cool getting fingerprinted when you know you aren't a criminal and all you want to do is get in front of a bunch of kids who will try to take advantage of you.

I watched My So Called Life when it first aired. I've been enjoying watching the series again. I didn't see the substitute teacher episode until tonight. I liked it. If I should venture into a classroom as a substitute teacher I will use it for inspiration.
