This was the first episode of MST3K to use a "stinger" (a short clip shown after the end credits to highlight a moment in the movie that the writers found particularly amusing).
During the movie, Tom Servo references an elephant joke which he can't repeat. He's referring this joke: A man has a job at the circus cleaning up elephant dung. A passerby asks why he doesn't find another line of work, to which the carnival worker replied, 'What - and give up show business?'
Beginning in this episode, the hexfield shutter was changed to a camera-style iris which was designed and constructed by Mark Gilbertson, who was added to the show's end credits for his contribution.
This episode is on the Volume 27 DVD Box Set of Mystery Science Theater 3000.
