Costume Designer Shawn Holly Cookson chose a predominantly green pallet for 'Fran's wardrobe when she is interacting with the family, and a black, red, and white combination for dealing with IRS topics. Together with Brenda Cooper, they were both creators of 'Fran's distinctive fashion look.
If the title originally refers to the play/movie 'The Iceman Cometh' written by American playwright 'Eugene O'Neill' in 1939, Fran actually took it from The Taxman Cometh (1990), which bears the exact same premise---which, naturally, she copied for her sitcom. In fact, this title is a patchwork of other writers' hard work from many much older sitcoms.
Monty Hall created, produced and was the host of 'Let's Make a Deal (1963)' for nearly 30 years. The show is known for audience members dressing in outrageous and unique costumes in order to increase their chances of being selected for "deals". A probability puzzle known as the "Monty Hall problem", based on one of the show's games, was conceived in 1975 by statistician Steve Selvin.
