- Lois Lane: I may be a lot like your Lois, but you're nothing like the Superman I know. He's no tyrant.
- Superman: I had to take control. there was no other way. For too long, I fooled myself into thinking I was doing a simple cleanup job. That if I did enough good, people would follow my example. I didn't realize it was a war. And suddenly, you were a casualty in that war and I knew I had to stop it by whatever means possible.
- Lois Lane: You did this because of me?
- Superman: You never knew how I felt about you. *I* never knew... until you were gone.
- [Lois slaps him]
- Lois Lane: You could have said something! We could have talked about it, figured it out. But now look at you, married to Luthor.
- Superman: I needed someone with the organization, the technology.
- Lois Lane: But Luthor?
- Superman: He just takes care of the day-to-day duties. He knows that if he ever tried anything, I'd crush him.
- [he crushes a blaster to emphasize his point]
- Lois Lane: I hate to disillusion you, but he just "tried" something. He tried to kill me.
- Superman: S.T.A.R. Labs used to be a place for ideas and hope.
- Lois Lane: It can be again.
- Superman: But will the people ever trust me again?
- Lois Lane: It'll take time.
- Superman: I've got the time. For them and for you.
- Superman: [her Superman calling through the portal] Lois! Hamilton sent me to bring you back. Hurry! There's not much time.
- Superman: I never thought I'd lose you... twice.
- Lois Lane: Will it change anything?
- Superman: For me, but not for Metropolis. Not this time.
- Superman: [her Superman] Lois!
- [she kisses the alternative Superman, then heads home]
- Lex Luthor: I'm glad you're all here. You can bear witness that I've been on your side all along.
- Jimmy Olsen: Save it, Luthor.
- Lois Lane: How do you think they got here? I had Superman stop by on the way over. They had a nice, long talk.
- Lex Luthor: [Superman forces his way into his office, throwing his desk aside] Something troubling you?
- Superman: I'm having trouble with your job performance.
- Lex Luthor: All I've ever done is give you what you wanted.
- Superman: Not anymore, Luthor. Show's over.
- Lex Luthor: Maybe for you.
- [as he takes out a piece of kryptonite, Superman begins to feel its effects]
- Lex Luthor: A gift from your adoring public.
- Lois Lane: So, how's it work?
- Professor Hamilton: I wish I could tell you.
- Lois Lane: Top secret, huh?
- Professor Hamilton: No, it's Kryptonian technology based on the Phantom Zone projector. We don't fully understand it yet.
- Jimmy Olsen: But can you really look into other dimensions with it?
- Professor Hamilton: In theory, it should be a kind of window. But all we've been able to get so far is static.
- [demonstrating what he means]
- Professor Hamilton: You see?
- [noticing a window is cracked, Lois walks around a post and sees it's not on the other side]
- Lois Lane: Hey! Professor! It's different!
- Professor Hamilton: What is?
- Lois Lane: The glass is cracked. You can see it between the posts. It works! We're looking into another dimension.
- Angela Chen: Find some other street to walk on, you two-bit tart.
- Lois Lane: Angela?
- Angela Chen: Lois? Lois Lane? My god, it's you! It's really you! You're alive after all these years. Can you loan me a dollar?
- Superman: They'll never accept you.
- Lex Luthor: Oh, no? I'll tell them how you forced me to enslave them, how I stood between them and your terrible wrath. Then when I toss them your poisoned, green carcass, I'll be more than their leader. I'll be their savior.
- Lex Luthor: Naturally, I was quite skeptical when Commander Graves said you were still alive. But according to this DNA scan, you are Lois Lane.
- Lois Lane: No question who you are. You're the one thing that's exactly the same.
- Lex Luthor: [quietly to Mercy] The insolence, the outright rudeness. She's definitely the genuine article.
- Mercy Graves: But how?
- Lex Luthor: It doesn't matter. If he finds out she's still alive, who knows what he'll do? He's hard enough to work with as it is.
- Mercy Graves: So, you want me to...
- Lex Luthor: Yes, but not here.
- Lois Lane: [Mercy drags her out] Hey! I'm not finished.
- Lex Luthor: I beg to differ.
- Mercy Graves: It's 10:00, curfew time. Superman wishes you all a pleasant evening and a restful sleep. Good night.
- Dan Turpin: Let's have a look at that curfew card, ma'am.
- Lois Lane: Turpin!
- Dan Turpin: That's what it says on my badge. Now, where's that card?
- Lois Lane: Oh, yeah, it's right here in my pur... oh, whoops! No purse. I'll just run home and...
- Dan Turpin: [grabbing her by the arm] I don't think so.
- Lois Lane: Look, there's been a mistake.
- Dan Turpin: And you're the one who made it, lady.
- Lois Lane: [after seeing the alternate dimension's Superman] He's so different.
- Jimmy Olsen: Different? Huh, what about you?
- Lois Lane: What do you mean?
- Jimmy Olsen: You're supposed to be dead. You were working on that Intergang piece. They put a bomb in your car. Remember?
- Lois Lane: Sure, but Superman saved me.
- Jimmy Olsen: He didn't save you. He got there a split-second too late. I saw the photos. That's when everything changed. He started wearing the black costume. Then he teamed up with Luthor, said he wanted to make the city safe again. Here's the result.
- Lois Lane: [he leads her into a room] Who are they?
- Jimmy Olsen: People who've lost their jobs, their families, 'cause they wouldn't go with the program. We're part of the resistance now. It's your turn to explain. How'd you survive?
- Lois Lane: Jimmy... it's a long story, and...
- Revolutionary: Jim! We were listening on the police scanner. We thought Superman got you.
- Jimmy Olsen: I was the lucky one.
- Revolutionary: Did you get it?
- Jimmy Olsen: [opening his satchel, revealing a piece of kryptonite] Superman's not gonna be a problem much longer. All we need is the right opportunity.
