Strother Martin is at his best as Nichols' Uncle Zachariah Nichols. He's constantly trying to out con, out lie and out fox everyone he meets, including Nichols. If the series had continued, he would have been a terrific recurring character. He later did show up on "The Rockford Files" as an old friend of Rocky's.

The story here involves $32,000 which may or may not belong to Zachariah. All Nichols knows is that his uncle's old cell mates claim the money is theirs and are willing to do what they have to do to get it.

There's a lot of little twists and turns in this story by Juanita Bartlett. I like the fact that this one didn't really involve the Ketchams other than an appearance by John Beck. Never thought that storyline worked well. There's some nice comedy with Stuart Margolin who keeps getting hurt (deafened, hit on the head, etc.), Margot Kidder is looking just gorgeous (though too young for Garner and really too young for a lecherous Martin) and Garner stand in Luis Delgado gets to say something in a brief appearance.
