The Genius Treatment
JordanThomasHall2 April 2020
Patty's psychology teacher Miss Morgan (Hildy Parks) introduces the class to Mr. Snell (campy comedian Paul Lynde) of the National Educational Testing Survey. He has been going to schools across the country giving computerized intelligence tests. While Mr. Snell walks out to take a phone call the computer malfunctions. Miss Morgan and Mr. Snell arrive at the Lane household to inform the family that Patty has set a new record in the highest category of genius with an IQ of 185. Mr. Snell encourages her parents to give her anything she wants to see where the creativity could lead. Her younger brother Ross (Paul O'Keefe) and parents now treat her delicately polite and over accommodating. Mr. Snell introduces Patty to other genius students following their own intellectual, artistic pursuits. Patty begins settling into the special treatment, but a problem arises.

Predictable, but kept interest as a decent example of how we treat people differently in certain circumstances. Plus, I give a nod to any show that displays how we rely on technology too much. Paul Lynde's comedy doesn't quite come off here as it does later on in his career.
