The Milquetoast Murders
redryan6431 December 2012
Warning: Spoilers
THIS EPISODE MOST fully capitalizes on the image and reputation of our title character to poke around on the outer fringes of the Law in much more freedom than the Police, being hand-cuffed by the courts, are rendered legally impotent.

THE SERIES STAR, Mr. Craig Stevens,PETER GUNN (Himself), does a bang-up job in his nauseatingly meandering through the night in the realm of the underworld. Wioth the greatest of relentless, he pays a visit to a potential client, the Mob. In a startling reversal of roles, the local Syndicate wants to employ him to solve a series of mass killings accomplished seemingly without any sort of problems whatsoever.

PRIVATE EYE GUNN brings the real police into the case by informing his pal, Lt. Jacoby (Hershel Bernardi); who is beside himself with the whole situation. Close collaboration between the public and private sectors of Law Enforcement. The crime wave is quickly put to rest, as is a requisite for a 1/2 hour police drama.

THAT THIS A PARTICULARLY well done episode is foreshadowed by who is the culprit. Amazingly, it is the portrayal animated with such vogue by none other than Mr. Howard McNear; who will forever be remembered as Floyd the Barber on THE ANDY GRIFFITH Show. The character turns out to be a mild member of The Silent Majoroity, who is fed up with the current pathetic mess; but also the former member of a grand jury.

THE SPECIAL TALENTS of Howard McNear probably go largely unnoticed today; but his talent comes through with flying colors. His credits are many and varied and include performing on stage, radio, films and television.

WHY HE EVEN portrayed Doc Adams on the GUNSMOKE Radio Show! Amazing, no?

Slight Touch of Homicide
Prismark1021 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Somebody is killing all the gangsters in town. Some of them end up died while fleeing town to avoid certain death.

One of the gang leaders hire Peter Gunn to find the culprit and pay him a lot of money.

Gunn gives the money to a police charity. Lieutenant Jacoby thinks that the culprit has done such a great public service. He might be elected as Governor.

The culprit turns out to be a meek mild mannered madman Barnaby. He certainly has a grudge against the mobsters in the city.

Both Gunn and Jacoby know that Barnaby is going to be institutionalised. In fact it turns out that is exactly what Barnaby put his mind to accomplish.

So he could be reunited with his wife who is institutionalised.

It was a clever twist that Barnaby knew exactly what he was doing.
