Craig Stevens: Peter Gunn

Quotes

  • Leslie : [scolding a waiter serving a skewer of shish kabob]  No. No. My dear sir, you're merely serving - not fighting off pirates. You brandished that like a weapon. Proffer the food - don't stab the customers to death.

Peter Gunn : [enters scene]  Good evening, Leslie.

Leslie : [sighs]  Mr. Gunn, that may be your considered opinion. Now, Lafitte, you suppose you can take your blade, return to the kitchen, and without impaling yourself - try another entrance? It isn't always simple.

Edie Hart : [enters scene as waiter exits]  Leslie?

    Leslie : Yes?

Edie Hart : It's a nice idea, but I don't know. Do you think that flaming swords are a little to progressive for us, right now?

Peter Gunn : [joking]  No. I've been just fine.

Leslie : Miss Hart, shall we go over basics, again? One may offer the choicest of prime sirloin - exquisitely done. The most one can hope for this morsel is seven dollars.

    Edie Hart : So.

Leslie : Ingenuity, Madam. Instead, one takes a stringy piece of gristly lamb, one skewers it, sets it aflame - twelve dollars.

Peter Gunn : Leslie, I have the feeling you used to work in a beanery.

Leslie : That, sir, is striking below the tenderloin.
