- [discussing a mutual friend who has fallen in love with a conman]
- Henry Crabbe: She must be out of her mind.
- Margaret Crabbe: That's what mum said when I married you.
- Henry Crabbe: No, it was my mum who said that.
- Margaret Crabbe: Was it?
- Henry Crabbe: Hmmm. I think it was my mum.
- Margaret Crabbe: Well my mum agreed.
- Henry Crabbe: Yes, she did agree.
- Trubb: Choose a sausage. Any sausage.
- P.C. Jane Morton: Why?
- Trubb: I can trace it back through it's batch number to the farm. From the farmer to the cow. I can give you the name of the cow.
- P.C. Ed Guthrie: All right, that one.
- Trubb: Daisy.
- [sniggers]
- Trubb: They're all called daisy aren't they. Every job got it's joke.
- [laughs - elbows Crabbe]
- Trubb: What's yours?
- Henry Crabbe: Guarding sausage factories.
- Freddy Fisher: Trubbs Thunderbolt doesn't contain any meat?
- Henry Crabbe: No sir, none!
- Freddy Fisher: Does it matter?
- Henry Crabbe: Well of course it matters. It matters to all of those women who have been protesting of behalf of all those poor little veal calves. It matters to all of those people who have been buying veal and pork sausages from Mr. Trubbs. Who makes bangers with any bang. I suppose the offence would be fraud and deception.
- Freddy Fisher: I suppose it would.
- Henry Crabbe: Well of course it would. It's shocking
- Freddy Fisher: There would be a lot of publicity if we charged him.
- Henry Crabbe: Yes, and very positive too. ACC Fisher protects the public again.
- Freddy Fisher: Okay, nick him.
- Henry Crabbe: Right.
- Freddy Fisher: At the end of the month.
- Henry Crabbe: What?
- [confused]
- Henry Crabbe: wey wey why?
- Freddy Fisher: Because he's PAID to the end of the month. Go back to the factory, keep the protester situation under surveillance and on the 31st. of the month, nick him.
