Joseph Campanella sings Burt Bacharach and Hal David's "The Look of Love" to Angie Dickinson. Dickinson and Bacharach were married at the time.
Quasi-pilot: This season finale aired on March 26, 1974. Several of the characters/actors would go on to appear in Police Woman (1974), which premiered 6 months later on September 13, 1974. The only two actors that retained their characters were Charles Dierkop as Royster, and Ed Bernard as Styles. Angie Dickinson appeared here as Lisa Beaumont, but in Police Woman her character's name was Suzanne "Pepper" Anderson. In a reversal of that, Bert Convy played Sgt. Crowley, while in Police Woman that character was played by Earl Holliman. One other difference was that Crolwey's rank on Police Woman was Lieutenant.
Nicole Kallis, who plays Angie's young sister, is producer Stanley Kallis's daughter.
Angie Dickinson was supposed to be a relatively new police officer (2.5 years on the job). In fact Dickinson was older two years older than Bert Convy (Crowley), 5 years older than Charles Dierkop (Royster), and 8 years older than Ed Bernard (Styles). Dickinson as of the air date was 42 years old, which in the 1970's would be unusual for a rookie police officer. Many police departments at the time had both minimum and maximum ages for employment.
Angie Dickinson (Lisa) and Joseph Campanella (Carl) would appear together 3 years later in Angela (1976). Both times his character was involved in organized crime and both times hers was a police officer.
