surreal parody of what you'd expect from a high school popularity show

Yeah, exactly what this series needed from the start. Ch-ch-changes. Big time. Almost all the supporting cast. And that "foremost perpetrator" main driving force... Read on...

{don't think that it's fun for me to write this, it is a saddening experience}

The big question while watching this: Is this junk? Yes. Right then, is it good junk? At times. There most certainly are moments. I, of course, am here for Leslie Bibb, and Carly Pope has become a favorite as well. As for that other lot... Well, I'd cheerfully give 'em the sack. Tammy Lynn Michaels, ooh girl, you'd hit the road so hard your head will spin, you ham actress you. :) And Leslie Grossman, you campy over-acting ol' thing, really, wherever did they find you? Mars? :) Actually, I am not kidding. For this particular episode though, my wrath is focused on Delta Burke. Ooh what can I say? I'll leave it to what Al Bundy on MARRIED WITH CHILDREN would say, and we all know what he would think of her. Unfortunately, if I went the whole hog like that, this review wouldn't get posted. Summed up: Delta Burke, please leave! Never darken my screen again. (Agreed, lots of people would find her entertaining, there is just no accounting for tastes, is there?)

I'm sorry, but in the cold hard light of day, face the facts, guys, this show missed the POT when it missed out on WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE PLOT taking the torch from BEVERLY HILLS 90210. Instead we have this junk which is most of the time really just a whole load of embarrassing drivel. Every third character is weirder than weird super-gay turning it into the GLAD torch-bearer Deluxe thanks to the firm hand on the wheel of Mister Ryan Murphy. It doesn't have the wallowing-in-mockery (okay, in all fairness now, that's my own opinion) of his later NIP/TUCK, so I'm not going to say too much, but all the queer goings-on have become boringly predictable.

In short, it should have been titled GAY HIGH OOH LA LA or something like that.

Not at all what I took it for when I signed up buying both seasons. Irritating characters abound, and Mister Murphy's thinly-veiled agenda of providing a platform for everything & anything NOT STRAIGHT quickly becomes a pain in the ass, pun intended.

This show is watchable to me only because of its two female leads. I'd much rather have wanted to see those two in a better presented show, one that isn't such a weird lot of nonsense.

To the many fans: Sorry for offending you. But take another long, hard look at the show, and see its inane structure BEFORE dissing my opinion. Thank you.

I don't like this episode.

Warning: Spoilers
It is the only season 1 Popular episode I really dislike. The topic was already addressed on Ally McBeal, in a more relevantly comedic AND dramatic way. This time however, it was ironic all over. First the teacher has awful fashion sense. And looks ridiculous dressed as a woman. Then when Miss (Sir) Glass, is the one most outraged by the situation, and the students decide to plan a sit in. You can hear the wind, because nobody but them bothered to show up... And after the teacher loses the trial, like everybody could've predicted, he himself admits to lying about a lot of things, about his private life. So he ends up more alone, than before he chose to transition... I'm not sure if we were supposed to feel sympathy or pity for said teacher, and if we're led to believe, not being a woman, really is his biggest issue in life. But I think this episode is clumsy and unintentionally funny. And if it wasn't for giving Harrison's mom a new job, and have Delta Burke star on the show again. It would not even add up to the season's arc as a whole, and be skippable altogether.
