Spock and T' Pring seven years before STAR TREK
kevinolzak9 November 2013
"The Hunted" is a stellar entry, bolstered by the surprise casting of a 29 year old Leonard Nimoy, already a decade-long TV veteran, and lovely Arlene Martel (still billed as Arline Sax, in a small role), Spock's wife T'Pring in STAR TREK's 1967 season opener, "Amok Time." Johnny Yuma learns that his old friend Jim Colburn (Nimoy) has been wrongly convicted of murder, only to find that Jim escaped from his cell the night before he was to be hanged, desperately speeding for the Mexican border completely unaware of what's happened behind him. Johnny hopes to find the pursuant posse before they lynch an innocent man, meeting up with several people victimized by Colburn, having resorted to stealing cash, a rifle, and a horse during his flight. The finale is fraught with tension, Yuma forced to dodge a barrage of bullets while trying to convince his friend of his good intentions. Hollywood veteran Dorothy Adams has a nice role as Jim's frantic mother.
