One of the most fascinating things about watching classic TV is finding familiar actors before they became stars, and on this episode of "Robert Montgomery Presents", there are two-future TV witch/movie of the week queen Elizabeth Montgomery and a future Oscar winner, Cliff Robertson. Montgomery plays the daughter of famous actors (like her real life) who travels overseas with mother Marjorie Gateson and best friend Sally Kemp, leading the two young ladies into getting into all sorts of amusing trouble. Robertson and John Griggs are the two men they spend romantic times with, some of them quite funny and others romantic and poignant.
Montgomery gets to share the epilogue with dad, and in one scene is all in black looking like a a witch as she keeps popping her head into the porthole where Kemp is with Griggs. The stories of Cornelia Otis Skinner and Emily Kimbrough had already been made into two movies at Paramount, so this is a return to another territory. Even though the Kinescope has its issues, it's worth finding for "Bewitched" fans because Montgomery shows her talent for comedy, and looks great in 20's fashions. She definitely shows she has what it takes to be a star, and a young Robertson is handsome and dashing.
