Rockford (Garner) is seen exhuming a casket from a graveyard. The two neighboring gravestones are marked "Rowan" and "Martin". Both gravestones are marked as having 'died in 1972: the year "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In" was canceled.
This episode's answering machine message tells Jim there's an opening at a trailer park, thus setting up the move from the Rockford trailer original location on Ocean Boulevard (Season 1) to its more familiar home at Paradise Cove, Malibu. The trailer remained at the Paradise Cove location for the duration of the show's run (Seasons 2 through 6). Ironically, Rockford's trailer will always be parked in the beach parking lot, not the actual trailer park (which can often be glimpsed in the background during chase scenes around the outskirts of the lot - to the driver's left when entering from the Main Street).
For the first time, Jim is shown using his portable printing press to make a phony business card.
Contrary to Sandra Turkel's (Sian Barbara Allen) description of Charlotte Duskey being "6 feet tall," actress Susan Damante, who plays Charlotte Duskey, is 5' 7."
Two stills of Stefanie Powers, from this episode, were used for the show's opening credits. Toward the end of the opening credits, she is seen through the passenger window in Rockford's car.
