The Ropers are moving their old furniture into their new townhouse. Their presence makes Mr. Brookes nervous as he is to entertain an important congressman. When the Ropers lock themselves out of their apartment, Stanley climbs a ladder into the second floor window. Helen returns to the Brookes to finish a glass of wine just as the senator, James (Roger Bowen, "MASH") and his wife Margaret (Jean Gillespie) arrive. Stanley soon barges in, unable to get past the upstairs room once the doorknob came off. As they await a locksmith (Rick Garcia), Mr. Brookes becomes fearful as Stanley increasingly drinks at the party.
