BY ANY OTHER NAME sees the crew fighting back against an invasion of killer plants. The premise is as cheesy as it sounds but also rather amusing, and there's something irresistable about watching extras getting dragged away by vines wrapped around them.

You can see why Scheider was raising holy heck about this season. Not only did the show abandon the relatively realistic science of season one, in season two it went to astonishingly cartoon level silliness in episodes like this.
And there's a specific late series Lost in Space episode this brought to mind, and while it was a turkey, it wasn't that far from that show's overall style.
As another reviewer pointed out, season 2 of Seaquest is so different from S1, that it's more like a spin-off than another season.
Actually, the correct comparison of the complete retool from a (relatively) realistic and serious season 1 to an action packed and ridiculous season 2 would be Space:1999. There's a reason most of you have not heard of that show...
