Hilarious Episode that uses Great Guest Stars to Full Effect,

How I Spent my Strummer Vacation is a fantastic Simpsons episode with a very well written storyline and plenty of very funny scenes. It's a really interesting and fun episode as we get to see Homer, as well as other hilarious residents of Springfield, spending a week in a rock and roll fantasy camp, it was very funny seeing them try out the many aspects required to become a musician and even making up their own music. I think it could have focused on Homer's problems with the family more, it plays a strong role in the beginning and towards the end, but it should have been a main part of the entire episode, it was a very dramatic thing to see from the Simpsons but I found it necessary and it was written very well. The guest stars in this episode is outstanding and this is the only animated series that could manage to get stars like this in one thirty minute show, with stars such as Mick Jagger, Elvis Costello and Lenny Kravitz, it is very impressive. How I Spent My Strummer Vacation is a very enjoyable Simpsons episode.

The family enroll Homer in to a rock and roll fantasy camp to give him a break from all the hard work he's been doing.

Warning: Spoilers
Elvis Costello, Mick Jagger, Lenny Kravitz, Tom Petty, Keith Richards, and Brian Setzer play themselves in this superb episode that, whilst falls outside the golden era, is still in my humble opinion, to be considered part of the golden era (being the first 10 seasons).

Anyway, Taxicab Confessions is the premise of Homer revealing he wanted to be a rock star, and he gets his wish at a camp run by Elvis Costello, Mick Jagger, Lenny Kravitz, Tom Petty, Keith Richards, and Brian Setzer. Anyway, I loved this episode, and the ending was hilarious big time with Elvis Costello, Mick Jagger, Lenny Kravitz, Tom Petty, Keith Richards, and Brian Setzer going up against Homer on the stage.

Warning: Spoilers
A hold over episode from Mike Scully's tenure as showrunner, this episode sees Homer packed off to rock camp.

It's an episode that overloads on guest voice performers, with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Lenny Kravitz, Elvis Costello, Brian Setzer and Tom Petty all popping up, but thankfully it doesn't get in the way of a good (and more importantly, funny) story being told.

A good start to S14.
