Queen of Scots
Prismark1029 June 2020
Intrigue between two rivals who were also cousins and who historically apparently never met.

Mary, Queen of Scots is confined to a castle. Walsingham schemes to have her out of the way. He conspires to pass a forge letter to her stating that the Spanish King is willing to invade England and free her from prison.

This is something Mary is happy with. Walsingham's allies forge a reply that Mary also wants Elizabeth dead. If Mary is found to be plotting against Elizabeth then she can be executed.

So Francis Drake is sent by Queen Elizabeth to find out the truth from Mary herself.

Away from the high seas, this episode sees Francis Drake engaging in diplomacy, the one that requires cunning and some action. Drake knows Walsingham's allies are up to no good.

Alfred Burke plays Sir Amyas Paulet, one of Walsingham's allies.
