For the last show in season one, the Mayor is feeling low when his divorce papers arrive at City Hall and all he can dwell-on is how bad his life is going. Also Paul is another feeling poorly as Claudia has moved into his apartment and now he is having second thought about letting her move in with him. And when Paul seeks the Mayor's advise about life the next thing you know they are hopping a plane, without telling anyone, to Miami.
At the office Mike is trying to keep the press from finding out that the Mayor is AWOL. With the Mayor's location unknown to him, Mike has to come up with some creative ideas to give the illusion that the Mayor is still in New York.
For the season finale, the episode is filled with material that may have seemed interesting on paper but just did not convert to the screen version. When the Mayor and Paul flew off to Miami, there was a lot of potential that could have been used. But we have to settle on one setting that offered very little in entertainment value. This episode could have been enjoyable but unfortunately, it was not.
