- When Jack is injured unintentionally by a crystal alien, the alien duplicates Jack's form and out of fear of retribution tries to heal Jack. He returns to Earth in place of Jack, while Jack is still unconscious on the planet, to find the one thing he feels will accomplish this; the one thing that cannot be found again. - The team discovers pieces of a blue crystalline substance that may have been a whole creature at one time. Col. Jack O'Neill is attacked by the substance and it forms a duplicate in O'Neill's likeness. The duplicate returns to Earth with the others leaving the real Jack O'Neill behind. Finding some of O'Neill's personal effect in his locker, the duplicate leaves the facility to visit his ex-wife and in search of his son. The creature doesn't realize that the boy died in a tragic accident some years before. The real O'Neill eventually regains consciousness and returns to the base but is put in the brig. The confusion is soon rectified but they now have to find out what the duplicate is up to.—garykmcd
