Delusion and Parasite
claudio_carvalho25 November 2015
The SG-1 finds a chamber with nine Goa'uld bodies inside and Teal'c identifies them as the rivals of the System Lords, Linvris. Daniel finds a device and while reading it, he is infected by an alien parasite. Back on the SGC, Daniel is delusional and Dr. Fraiser locks him in a cell while the SG-1 is kept in quarantine for observation. When Jack, Sam and Teal'c visit Daniel in the cell, his parasite leaves his body and infects Teal'c. Further, Daniel overhears Ma'chello's voice telling that the parasite was intended to kill Goa'uld. Will Daniel convince his friends that he is not mad?

"Legacy" is a good episode of SG-1 with well-written story and screenplay. The plot is also well resolved with the skilled Sam finding a means to save the SG-1 and Dr. Fraiser. My vote is seven.

We've got bugs!

Decent episodes in terms of storyline and acting. Carter seriously puts in overtime saving the SGs behinds time and time again. The concept was interesting though the resolution came about a bit swift even by modern sciences standards.

Based on a very faulty pre-supposition

I'm not talking about the Goa'uld / Machello thing taking over Daniel. that's not problematic to me. What I *DO* have a problem with is, when Daniel starts behaving oddly and hearing things, etc., everyone automatically assumes he's gone 'round the bend and is having mental problems. The problem is that this team has been through enough things--enough WEIRD things--including being taken over by Goa'uld and other entities--that SOMEONE at the SGC should have at least thought it possible that Daniel could have been infected (or affected) by some alien entity or technology. I can't believe everyone was so quick to go to the "he's crazy" option. I mean come on, this is hardly the first time that a member of SG-1 has come back from a mission and started acting oddly. And THEY didn't end up in a padded room. Give me a break!

Doesn't work...

Slackersmom nailed this episode review...

One of the most frustrating episodes thus far. It makes absolutely no sense that they would disregard everything Dr Jackson was saying considering all the things they've gone through and the general open-mindedness these people should have on a daily basis based on the plethora of infections and alien microbes and near invisible, or actually invisible, threats they have all witnessed. Coupled with the odd situation they discovered and the fact that Dr Jackson felt something brush up against him, the next 20 minutes of the episode showed a frustrating amount of ignorance on the part of the characters, thanks to the script. I can understand them taking precautions with Dr Jackson, but to disregard everything he was saying based on an assumption made this episode hard to watch.
