Efficient thriller very tense and sharp as knife where the settings could remind you some Sherlock Holmes adventures such as SCARLET CLAW or HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLE. You never drop your attention from this short story. I won't repeat the plot line but you can trust me when I say it's worth watching. But you have to deal with the always unbearable soundtrack, a true torture. Brian Keith is one of his earliest roles.

Clunk!

With basically three characters (none of the supporting players even get a screen credit), this minor story is more gimmicky than suspenseful. By the time it was over I was glad the manipulation was over.
Neva Patterson is convincing as the damsel in distress, riding her buggy at night in the woods to pick up her husband at the railroad station. She gives a ride to the sister of a local doctor whose wife was murdered in these woods, but it's obvious to the audience that this sister is a man in drag played by Robert H. Harris with no convincing feminine mannerisms at all.
A young Robert Keith shows up, seen ealier as a beefcake blacksmith working on her horse, and there's a tiny bit of suspense until she quickly sorts out who's a good guy and who's the real killer.
With zero subtlety and not so hot acting, it's a loser of an episode.
