- It's Thanksgiving day and Eric can't tell Red about failing math or about his secret engagement to Donna. Red may reward Eric's (alleged) maturity at dinner, and Kelso is 'dating' Eric's math teacher. Kitty's Mom and Dad add to the chaos.
- Thanksgiving Day 1978, Eric hides the fact that he's failing math from Red. Red thinks Eric's changed and matured so he gives Eric sister Laurie's usually reserved seat at the table. This compliment makes Eric feel it's a perfect time to reveal his engagement to Donna to all. Kelso makes this difficult by showing up for dinner, on a date, with Ms. McGee, Eric's math teacher, who is a decade older than Michael. - Eric wants Donna to take the Foreman name after marriage. Donna says that Kitty is the Mrs. Foreman and now Eric is turned off by Donna taking on his last name.
Thanksgiving Day 1978, Eric hides the fact that he's failing math from Red. He signs the parent note himself. Eric argues that all he did was fail 2 math quizzes, but his new Math teacher was being very strict. Red thinks Eric's changed and matured so he gives Eric his sister Laurie's (Lisa Robin Kelly) usually reserved seat at the table. Laurie hasn't been home for several years now and this is the first time she is visiting in all these years. Laurie is no longer Red's favorite child and wishes that she had simply called instead of coming all the way from Chicago. Red tells Laurie to be a little more like Eric. This compliment makes Eric feel it's a perfect time to reveal his engagement to Donna to all.
Kitty's parents, arriving from Phoenix, only add to the chaos. Kitty tells Bea that she is thankful that Bea was her mother and that she loves her. But instead of returning the compliment, Bea just goes off to get some more tea. Burt promises to pass some booze into Bea's drink just so everybody has a happy Thanksgiving.
Kelso makes this difficult by showing up for dinner, on a date, with Ms. McGee (Andrea Bendewald), Eric's math teacher, who is a decade older then Michael. Eric speaks to McGee and agrees that she would keep quiet about his grades if he would keep quiet that she is dating Kelso.
Burt mistakes that Fez is Red's indigenous houseboy. Meanwhile, Red asks Eric to carve the Turkey as this is his year. As Eric gets up to announce his engagement, Fez is drunk and reveals that Eric is failing math. Then McGee lets slip that Red did sign the parent's note, which reveals that Eric forged it. Laurie is delirious with happiness as she picked the right day to come back home.
Red blames Bob that Eric is spending all of his time with Donna, Bob blames Eric since Eric corrupted Donna so bad that she had to be sent to Catholic school and Bea blames Kitty for the mess, as she held on too long to Eric as a baby. It was Kitty's smoking due to which Eric reached puberty late too.
Later, in the pot circle, Laurie says that she misses dating Kelso as all the guys she dates now are married. Jackie says that Laurie never dated Kelso, she only corrupted him so much that Jackie had to dump him and date Hyde. Donna is the only one at the circle who hasn't dated Kelso yet. Kitty realizes that Laurie gets her mean streak from Bea.
Since kicking ass doesn't work anymore, Red starts fining Eric. $30 for forging his signature. Red gives the money to Laurie when she asks for it. Red also gives Laurie Eric's room and Eric has to sleep on the couch. Eric and Donna tell a sleeping Burt that they are engaged as it feels good to tell someone.
