***SPOILERS*** Charles "Death Wish" Bronson is undercover government agent Frankie Ames who while working as a collection man for mobster Lee Kerry, Lewis Charles, is given a contract on the bed ridden and with six months to live former counterfeiter Seth Ogdon, Ralph Moody,to keep him from talking, if he lives long enough, to the police about Kerry's mob operation. There's also Seth's greedy wife Molly,Lillian Buyeff, who want's her husband to be knocked off in order for her to collect the $25,000.00 insurance she has on him and use it, among other things, to paint the town red.

Frankie facing the dilemma of killing someone to prove that he's legit to his boss Kerry tries to postpone the hit-job as long as possible that has Kerry suspect that he's working for the Fed's or local police and then puts the squeeze on him to put up or shut up. That in his bragging about what a good and loyal hit man and hoodlum that he claims that he is. It's Ames controller Government Agent Dalton, Clark Howat, who comes to his as well as Seth's rescue when he's forced to push the sick old man off the roof and make it look like an accident as he's feeding his pigeons and, together with a squad of police, puts the cuffs on Molly and Kerry who never saw it, the police raid, coming.

From file #4826 of the US Treasury Department told to us by the Chief Walter Greaza with a clean shaven Charles Bronson in one of his first roles as a good guy who up until then he always played hoods convicts and like in the movie " Mystery of the Wax Museum" deft mute psychos with very little or no dialog to his parts; That made him look either brain dead or severely retarded. At least in here he not only looked like his usual tough guy self but also was able to speak whole sentences and look civilized, wearing a both clean and neatly pressed suit & tie, as well.
