Several times the pilot refers to the "left waist "position during combat. When Corporal Lawrence is in the airplane, he is actually shooting from the "right waist" position.
With the series set in 1943, at the beginning Major Morse and Captain Wilson look at Corporal Lawrence's personnel file and mention his age as 21. Later, Lawrence tells General Savage that his father was killed in France on November 11, 1918 (the last day of World War I). Unless his mother had a 4-year pregnancy, Lawrence is lying about either his age or who his father was.
As the dead and wounded are taken off Major Morse's plane, Captain Wilson comments about the "corpsmen". "Corpsman" is a Navy/Marine Corps term. The Army term is "medic".
