A Brigadier General's star is centered on the lapel as an early recognition factor since no other insignia is placed in that fashion and it is designed to give general officers another level of recognition and respect for "flag rank".
In one scene that takes place in neutral Sweden, one of the vehicles used is a Renault Dauphine, a French model first produced in 1956.
